About Me
"When financial matters seem like a 2nd language."
You may be foreign born, raising a young family, or in a woman-led household, where financial matters seem too complicated to understand. Or, you may have social and economic ties outside the US adding a nuanced dimension to your financial picture.
That's where FWJ Planning comes in. As Founder and Lead Planner, I offer financial advice, either in a comprehensive or hourly engagement.
As a foreign-born transplant from across the Atlantic, I'm familiar with cultural flavors that money comes with, having travelled across continents, building a family and a financial base from ground-up, switching careers, states and everything in between - called LIFE! The switch from Corporate Finance to Personal Finance led to FWJ Planning.
Planning is my #Ikigai(A Japanese term for finding meaning and purpose in your profession) - serve households in similar life stages as they grapple with complexities of raising a family away from home or in a lead role in the household.
Tax Planning, Cross-Border Planning, Retirement Planning, College Planning, Buying a Home, Investment Strategies, Cash-flow Planning, Legacy Planning are few of the areas I assist my clients with.
In addition to being a CFP®, I am licensed as an Enrolled Agent, one of the only designations conferred by the IRS uniquely qualifying me as a Tax Professional. I am a Certified Student Loan Planner (CSLP) and have advised 100+ borrowers on managing their student loans.
I offer engagements scoped based on specific client needs - as one size doesn't fit all.
My Tax Services are listed at at www.fwjtaxprep.com where I assist individuals and small business owners with their tax-filing obligations, tax-strategies and cross-border planning considerations.
Mission Statement
To fill every household with the "Joy" that comes from knowing their financial future is secure, strategic, and entirely their own.
Why I Became an Advisor
Transplanting, seeding, growing and thriving - these are not just growth phases in a healthy plant, they are also the phases of those that move out on their own - either to another country, continent, workplace or family- multiple times over.
In my professional career as an engineer, programmer, project manager, management consultant, MBA, finance director, tax professional , CFP, financial planner - while navigating through life stages as a career woman, mother and business owner, I discovered the nuances of money matters and it's relationship with our sense of self. Financial Planning can be therapeutic - it cuts through the noise calms the storm, while letting the self to thrive. It's a calling that I'm glad I responded to.
