About Me

I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Certified Financial Transitionist®, and End-of-Life Doula, and I run a conversation practice at the intersection of money, mortality, and meaning.

I work primarily with midlife people who are touching mortality in some way: living with serious illness, caregiving for someone they love, grieving a death, rebuilding life after surviving a life-threatening diagnosis, or simply becoming more curious about their own mortality and what it means for how they want to live.

My work isn’t traditional financial planning. I don’t manage investments, sell products, or create comprehensive long-term financial plans. Instead, I offer what I call “scratch-paper planning”: enough financial analysis to help you understand what you have, what you need, what options are available, and what the tradeoffs might be as you make decisions in real time.

But money is only part of the conversation.

Serious illness, caregiving, aging, grief, and mortality have a way of disrupting everything at once: finances, relationships, identity, work, family roles, priorities, and the future you thought you were planning for. Together, we make room for all of it.

That might mean stabilizing your finances, understanding benefits and resources available to you, exploring the financial implications of different choices, preparing for changes in work or caregiving, clarifying your intentions, reviewing whether your estate documents reflect those intentions, communicating with loved ones, contemplating your enduring influence, or simply asking: Given what I know now, how do I want to live?

I also collaborate closely with the other people supporting you. That may include your financial planner, attorney, accountant, therapist or coach, physicians, hospice or palliative care team, family, and friends. I’m not trying to replace those relationships. Part of my role is helping you make sense of the complexity, prepare for important conversations, and engage more effectively with the people whose expertise you need.

The logistics matter, but so does how you feel while you’re navigating them.

Clients often tell me I bring a mix of reverence, pragmatism, humor, and steadiness to difficult conversations. They don’t want to feel like a case or a project. They want to be seen and heard by someone who can talk about dying and dollars in the same breath, who doesn’t flinch when things get complicated, and who makes space for both spreadsheets and soul.

My own path includes more than a decade in financial services, a degree in molecular biology, experience as both a birth and end-of-life doula, caregiving for elders, navigating significant family loss, and administering an estate while grieving. I’m also an excellent cook, an insatiably curious learner, and a child-free cat lady. I wear sensible shoes, love statement jewelry, and laugh and cry easily.

I believe that when something life-changing happens to you, you should let it change your life.

And I believe every day should be a good day to die, whether or not you’re living with a diagnosis.

If you’re ready to have some of these conversations, or not ready at all but know you need a place to begin, I’m here.

Mission Statement

To create space for the conversations that arise when mortality changes the story, helping people navigate money, relationships, identity, uncertainty, and what matters most with curiosity, clarity, dignity, and agency.

Why I Became an Advisor

I didn’t become a financial planner because markets fascinated me. I became one because life transitions do.

Birth. Illness. Death. Inheritance. Identity rupture.

Money is braided through all of it. When something life-altering happens, the associated financial decisions carry emotional weight. I wanted to be someone who understands both sides of that equation.

Planning, to me, isn’t just about the numbers. It’s about helping someone make clear, values-aligned decisions when the ground shifts beneath them.
