About Me

My career began in the rigorous tax compliance and consulting departments of "Big Four" accounting firms PwC and Deloitte, where I advised high-net-worth individuals and Fortune 500 companies. From there, I transitioned into a senior leadership position at a large family-owned business, directing tax and financial planning for both the corporation and its owner.

Living and practicing in San Luis Obispo, California, I work virtually with clients across the country. I'm a licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and a PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) - a credential awarded by the AICPA exclusively to CPAs with advanced expertise in personal financial planning. I also hold a Master of Science in Accounting with a Specialization in Tax (Graduated with Distinction) from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. By combining this deep tax background with comprehensive financial planning strategies, I offer a level of integration that is uncommon among personal financial advisors.

Outside of work, you can find me enjoying life on the Central Coast with my wife and two boys. I love backpacking, mountain biking, playing pickleball, and coaching my boys' soccer teams.

Mission Statement

WealthMap Planning is built on four Guiding Principles:

(1) TRANSPARENCY: We believe in clear, honest communication about our services, fees, and strategies.

(2) PERSONALIZATION: We believe in tailoring our strategies and advice to fit the unique facts and goals of each individual.

(3) SIMPLICITY: We believe in proven, straightforward strategies to build wealth in the most efficient way possible.

(4) EMPOWERMENT: We believe in equipping clients with the information they need to take control of their financial future.

Why I Became an Advisor

I founded WealthMap Planning to help address a gap in the financial advisory industry for straightforward advice that individuals can apply on their own. The financial services sector has created a maze of complexity that aims to confuse the average person, leading them to believe that they couldn't possibly be qualified to handle their own money. However, most people don't need someone to manage their money. They simply need sound financial advice that they can understand and implement for themselves. WealthMap Planning was built for those who want to manage their own finances and simply need guidance and reassurance that they are on the correct path.
